Kelly Wong Vice President | CALS ’15 Natural Resources Specialties: Staff, Longfist Hellos, I’m Kelly! I’ve had a passion for KungFu ever since I was a little kid. I started learning a traditional southern praying mantis style when I was younger. I discovered Wushu a few years ago and I now practice Longfist. I enjoy learning new forms and different weapons.
Peter Gu Secretary | COE ’13 Applied Engineering Physics Specialties: Longfist, Broadsword I was born in Reno, NV, before moving to Maryland and living there for most of my life. I started Wushu at Omei Wushu Academy when I was in high school, and I still train there when I’m not in school. Now I’m aiming to learn new styles along with learning engineering.

Esco He Member | COE ’15 Operations Research Engineering Specialties: Spear, Staff, Broadsword, Straight sword, Longfist People often ask me, “Why do you do Wushu?” Because everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Everything changed…
Evan Hayssen Member | COE ’15 Mechanical Engineering Specialties: Traditional Shaolin I grew up in Andover, Massachusetts, where I started kung fu when I was six years old. I also started tae kwon do when I came to Cornell. I used to focus mostly on sparring, but since joining Cornell Wushu I’ve come to love performing as well, and I’m always up for learning new techniques or styles.

Chiping Yeh Member | COE ’12 Information Science, ’14 Systems Engineering Specialties: Longfist, Straight sword Since I was a child actors such as Jackie Chan and Jet Li inspired me to learn martial arts some day and be like them. Cornell Wushu has helped me grow a great deal in that regards since I joined 2 years ago, and I look forward to growing even more.

Yixi Yang Member | A&S’16 Math & Economics Specialties: Freshman from Pennsylvania who is crazy about kung-fu novels, television series made from said kung-fu novels, and theme songs from said television series. I have lived the first half of my life in China and the second half in U.S. including six years in Texas. I cannot/will not eat peppers even though I came from one of the two ‘spice provinces’ in China… And I’m really excited about all the kicks, punches, and people I meet in Wushu!
Wenting “Tiffany” Li Member | A&S’16 Statistics & Economics Specialties: Wing Chun I am Tiffany from Guangzhou, China. I have been practicing Wing Chun since 7th Grade, which is more introverted compared to Wushu and also focused more on sparring than on performance. I am eager to learn more about various styles of Wushu and practice HARD!!
Connie Chen Member | A&S’16 Math & Economics Specialties: I’ve always loved martial arts although I’ve never learned any. I am glad to have joined Cornell Wushu, and I want to learn all that I can.
Christine Hwang Member | COE’16 Electrical and Computer Engineering Specialties: I have no previous martial arts or athletic experience in general, but I’m willing to work hard to learn the art of Wushu.
Jennifer Mizhquiri Member | A&S’16 Chemistry & English Specialties: Cornell Wushu has inspired me to resume my martial arts training. I was once an almost-mediocre student of Shotokan karate (my Sensei told me so!), and I hope to reach at least that level in Wushu one day.
Kate Zhou Member | COE’16 Undecided Specialties: Hello! I’m Kate. I have always been interested in Chinese martial arts but this is my first year trying wushu. It’s been a great experience learning new moves and spending time with the Wushu family. Looking forward to more years of wushu! (:
Juan Carlos Lozano Member | A&S’14 Biological Sciences Specialties: I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV (btw, I didn’t live in a hotel). As a child, I was infatuated with TV shows and movies that displayed various forms of martial arts. However, I wasn’t able to get the chance to study martial arts until I came to Cornell, so I am really glad to start my journey into Chinese martial arts through Cornell Wushu.

JAIYO!
