Hi, I’m Erika! I’ve always been interested in martial arts and loved watching it, so when I found out about Cornell Wushu, I knew I wanted to join. I don’t have much experience with martial arts besides a few weeks of Capoeira and one day of Wushu, but I can’t wait to learn more and get to know everyone!

Hey y’all! I’m from Cleveland, Ohio. I have no experience in Wushu, but I’ve always wanted to try it out. In the past, I did acrobatics, figure skating, and fencing. Now, I’m super excited to learn more about Wushu and to meet cool people!

I’ve been practicing Wushu for the last 6 years, and I specialize in longfist, straight sword, and spear. I love Wushu because it’s allowed me to meet loads of amazing people as well as push my physical and mental limits. Outside of Wushu, my interests include running, reading, dancing, and photography.

Hi! I’m Neela and I’m from Kentucky! I joined Cornell Wushu because it looked fun and decided to stay because I really love learning, improving, and performing with everyone on the team! Besides wushu, I enjoy piano and a cappella.

When I was seven I started learning Tian Shan Pai style Kung Fu, and I knew that I wanted to continue learning martial arts in college so I joined Wushu! As well as doing Wushu and Kung Fu, I also like to read, do theatre, and pet cats.

Going into college, I knew I wanted to try some new things. When getting that better-than-RPCC Appel food, I saw one of those really cool chalk drawings for some Wushu thing. Didn’t know what that was, but I showed up to the first practice and have (semi) been showing up since.

I’m a junior in CALS majoring in Environmental and Sustainability Sciences (Sadly, most people don’t know what I’m talking about when I say ESS). I hail from Brooklyn, one of the five boroughs of NYC, and I’m not too fond of the cold weather at Cornell despite its resemblance to the snowstorms from home. I joined Wushu last year with no prior experience and was extremely delighted to find this club full of kind and friendly people. I enjoy reading and writing in my free time (not that I have much leisure time at Cornell anyway). Occasionally I find myself wanting to sketch a picture or two, but I won’t dare to call myself an artist. I live in JAM and the joke is that I haven’t practiced the piano in months. Recently I’ve started playing a bit and hoped to keep it up.
